It should be an option, or it should be round so we can keep phases.
Even looking at the "round" moon, it's obviously comprised of cubes.

Round does look more realistic but circles don't exist in the minecraft universe!!!!! So square all the way

you can easily make phases of the moon with a square moon/sun also notch fix these circles in minecraft that are ender pearls/snowballs/slimeballs they are evil!

Square moon and sun is one of the original things that resembles the general theme of the minecraft world, squareness. Round things don't belong in this world and making those round is like the same thing as making the player's head sphere. It just doesn't suit! I like the idea of moon phases but I'm sure they can be as well made with the original square moon.
