The moon will be made up of square pixels. Just like the rounded mountains that are rendered. People make spheres in minecraft all the time. Imagine is every mountain you came across was a solid square. What a pile of dick? There has always been a "rounded square element" to minecraft. What difference will the moon make? Get over it. Report Abuse I'm voting square not because 'no round in minecraft' but because of it's artistic value. It's innovative and lends a good feel to the world. People's arguments for 'round' are just as slated as they are arguing for 'round because you can have phases', but you can just as well have phases on square.

Report Abuse To all the people saying that the moon is sqaue anyway because the pixels are square... you do realise that pixels on ALL games (and anything you see on a screen) are square? -.- Also, the moon and sun being cubes fits in with what I like to think of as Minecraft's fiction - I imagine the world being a big cube made out of stone (with grass on the top, and a good few layers of bedrock at the bottom (the Nether's inside that ), or maybe just the Void under that. Though I know that the world is a LOT wider/longer than it is tall. Anyway, you get my point. this is killing me
First of all, he's making it round because he wants to add moon phases, which could mean varying mob difficulty depending on the phase.
And I'm sure you will be able to change it with a texture pack anyway. I say leave it round. Most texture packs turn it round anyway. Phases would look weird on a square moon. I say it's your game notch. People naturally resist change. I personal voted square just cause I like the feel of it but I am sure I would get just as use to round. Report Abuse Tbh it's not a real circle, for it to be a real circle it would have to have an infinite number of edges, and this moon clearly does not have an infinite number of edges. This is a Minecraft circle, it looks great, and it makes the sun and moon more distinguishable from the rest of the game.I like the new sun and moon better. Posted by SQUARE.
