But why are people voting for Empire state of Mind?! Posted by jose March 12, 2013 at 5:56 pm. HALL OF FAME IS THE ONE THAT MAKES "THE MOST SENSE" Posted by Melody March 9, 2013 at 10:52 am. I hate the songs! I hate the fact I won't be walking! something my son and family been looking forward to! I don't even feel like going anymore and returning my cap/ gown and getting my 60 bucks back. Posted by Jennifer March 8, 2013 at 11:18 pm. Hate the songs listed its not good for a gradation theme Posted by Marie March 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm. This song selection is rather sad. As much as I hate Vitamin C's Graduation song I would have much rather it than these. Aside from being disappointed in not being able to walk after all the hard work, these ridiculous choices are also making me reconsider attending the graduation ceremony. What has happened to common sense! Posted by Jenee R. March 7, 2013 at 12:11 pm. Who picked these songs?? The seniors haven't had any say in anything this year Posted by NB March 5, 2013 at 7:22 pm. Extremely sad about the song selection, I do not like any of these songs to be played for graduation! Posted by Juanita Williams February 28, 2013 at 3:43 pm. I like Alicia Keys song as it is powerful and represents confidence and strength. Posted by Deborah February 26, 2013 at 8:16 am. While I also do not appreciate the selection of songs presented here for graduation, I think we may have no choice in changing it by simply making comments here - we'll need to do it on a different level. I will email the department that handles graduation and maybe if we all say something they would change it, but at this point it may be too late. In the event that it is - I chose "Hall of Fame" it's the closest thing to anything worthy of being played at a graduation. Posted by commonsense February 25, 2013 at 11:24 pm. I' m from New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made,There's nothing you can't do, now you're in New York These streets will make you feel brand new Big lights will inspire you, let's hear it for New York New York, New York" I'm a lil puzzled about the problem with the song, and why does the song have to be, "ghetto"....shame on you my John Jay graduates. Posted by Krystle February 16, 2013 at 9:52 pm. John Jay is really entertaining this. Show how smart the graduation committee is. Posted by Krystle February 16, 2013 at 9:51 pm. John Jay is really entertaining these choices? Posted by JM February 14, 2013 at 10:10 am. Ohh come on are we really going to embarrass a special day like graduation by listening to this. Who in the world selected these songs Posted by Melissa February 13, 2013 at 3:07 pm. For the mere fact that we're graduates of a Criminal Justice school, why are we picking pop music/hip hop/rap songs? This is a bit pathetic (and ghetto). Considering the school just spent over $600 Million on a new building, I would prefer if I walked out to a proper scholarly atmosphere after Commencement, not a night club. I hope someone comes to their senses, I'm already embarrassed just thinking about it. Posted by Maria in reply to Melissa March 2, 2013 at 11:11 pm. Sorry to say but I agree with you Melissa...
