I went to the University of Northern Iowa from 1972 to 1977. Fonda Dicks was a student there for part of that time. Although I never met her, the name was somewhat of a legend amongst the student population. Today while composing a post to an email listserv, I googled the name to make sure it was not just an urban legend. But no, my memory of seeing 'Fonda Dicks' listed in the UNI Student Directory is accurate. What were her parents thinking?
