| "Do you want pathways in the township?" | |
From another Brighton twp resident on August 3, 2009 at 11:49 am. Loading up the kids and the bikes and driving to the park because you can't bike in your own neighborhood, or bike to the park seems totally absurd. Trails build community, and support community health and welfare. Homes with trail connections even sell for more! Hamburg has a head start on us all with the lakeland trail, enjoyed by many. Green Oak is working on their trail system to connect the Lakeland Trail to South Lyon, Island Lake and Kensington parks and the city of Brighton. South Lyon's trail system connects its residents to the surrounding parks and Oakland County's extensive trail system. Let's get in gear! There's funding available from DNR, MDOT, Safe Paths to Schools, and more. Lets get in gear, and build a more enjoyable, better connected community!
