X-com is all about what you put into it. If you get attached to your characters and name them after real life people you care about the game gets intense and hilarious. X-COM is good but, if you're okay using a PS2 emulator then it'd be great to see you doing the Jax and Daxter series. It's got a great storyline, engaging characters, accessible and fun combat plus loads of collectible stuff for you to get all kleptomaniacal over for the bonus ending! I would suggest Shadow of the Colossus, but there's probably just a little bit too much time spent just riding and not doing things that are fun to watch. For a more modern game I definitely think The Witcher 2 is a good call. Or if you wanted a something a little more obscure, again for PS2, I would suggest Spartan: Total Warrior or Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven. But yeah, X-XOM is good.
