IP Logged, 97.89.120.x Report Abuse Thank you for the compliment, but high school sophomores are not paid for their punditry. You are very willing to attack my supposed "ignorance", and yet have not enlightened me with a fact that I do not know about Sarah Palin that would change my opinion of her. Let us examine some actual facts: -Sarah Palin's experience consists of being a governor for twenty months. -Sarah Palin, with only this backwoods leadership experience, given John McCain's age, may well need to step into the role of Commander-in-chief at any given moment. -Sarah Palin has no foreign policy experience whatsoever. -Sarah Palin was nominated over several more experienced and, presumably in the eyes of conservatives, qualified candidates for no apparent reason other than her gender. I must ask you how, in light of those facts, you can continue this line of thinking.

From BarryD in reply to A concerned citizen on August 30, 2008 at 6:11 pm. IP Logged, 76.212.165.x Report Abuse Sarah Palin has negotiated an important deal, both for her state and the US, successfully, with a foreign country. She has also negotiated successfully with the world's largest oil companies for the benefit of her state, when the previous governor was in their pockets. Obama has negotiated _______ with ________? Read up on Sarah Palin. You really do know nothing of what you say, citizen. "Backwoods" vs. the Chicago machine. "Change" in DC. Hmmmm.... But I might forgive your ignorance if you're really 15 years old. Your arrogance, though, is something you might want to work on. It might not serve you well if you're ever in the "backwoods." See Chris McCandless, for example...

IP Logged, 24.252.28.x Report Abuse Here's some real world statistics for you dreamy eyed Republicans from a poll posted only 40 minutes ago: A Gallup poll shows Barack Obama maintaining an 8 percentage point lead over John McCain following the end of the Democratic convention Thursday. In the poll taken Friday, 39 percent said Sarah Palin is ready to serve as president if needed, 33 percent said she isn't and 29 percent have no opinion. Thats the LOWEST RATING any running mate has had since then-Indiana Sen. Dan Quayle was selected in 1988 to join George H.W. Bushs team. By contrast, 57 percent of voters rated Delaware Sen. Joe Biden as qualified after Obama selected him last week. Eighteen percent said he wasnt qualified. Continue to talk amonst yourselves - meanwhile, "Team McCain" is currently experiencing the largest deficit of their campaign. My guess is, you'd rally behind a chimpanzee if he was a registered Republican.

IP Logged, 24.252.28.x Report Abuse Dear "DUH" All you have to do is look at the comments in this forum to see that your statement is, duh, what's the term - ludicrous (loo - di - krus : meaning "broadly or extravagantly humorous"). Count the number of presumed Republican (that's with a capital "R", by the way) comments, then tally the number of "good pick" comments. Secondly, you miss the point. The poll suggests that McCain is behind, and that Palin did not help his numbers. It said nothing about cross Party opinions - that's merely an assumption on your part. Duh, indeed.

IP Logged, 216.189.188.x Report Abuse My guess is, you'd talk to your fellow Americans in this dismissive way about their intelligence, and that's why liberal politicians have SUCH a rough time getting elected to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. 3 Democratic Presidents elected to 2nd terms in the whole of the 20th Century. So far none in the 21st. Why don't you try winning something for a change?
From Kick Prospector's Butt in reply to Victoria on August 30, 2008 at 8:05 pm. IP Logged, 24.252.28.x Report Abuse PS - As far as winning is concerned, you're making another assumption. The election hasn't been won by either Party yet. The midterms saw the Republicans lose ground. McCain is currently behind in the polls. I would be happy to "win" if the correct Republican was elected - I just don't feel McCain is that person. I wouldn't boast about the 21st century, since we're only eight years into it. I'll be happy to look back and debate that issue 93 years from now.
