Here is a list of former Governors you may have heard about. During their time many (if not all) of these people were considered too inexperienced for the job at hand. Experience is like IQ, it all depends on how you use it. 1.Martin Van Buren: Governor of New York in 1829 2.James Polk: Governor of Tennessee, serving from 1839-1841 3.Andrew Johnson: Governor of Tennessee from 1853-1857 and then appointed by Lincoln to serve as military governor of Tennessee from 1862-1864 4.Rutherford Hayes: Governor of Ohio from 1868-1872 and again from 1876-1877 5.Grover Cleveland: Governor of New York from 1883-1885 6.William McKinley: Governor of Ohio from 1892-1896 7.Theodore Roosevelt, first Governor of New York from 1899-1901. 8.Woodrow Wilson: Governor of New Jersey from 1911-1913 9.Calvin Coolidge: Governor of Massachusetts from 1919-1921 10.Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Governor of New York from 1929-1933 11.Ronald Reagan: Governor of California from 1967-1975 12.Jimmy Carter: Governor of Georgia from 1971-1975, and the first elected governor from the South post Civil War 13.Bill Clinton: Governor of Arkansas for two separate terms, from 1979-1981, and from 1983-1992

Upon hearing of FDR's death, HST hastened to call upon the bereaved widow and company at the White House. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" Harry asked, to which Eleanor replied, "Oh, Harry, the question is 'What can we do to help you?'"

IP Logged, 97.89.120.x Report Abuse Palin was nominated on the basis that women in America will vote for her solely on the criterion that she is a woman. The manipulative mindset behind that idea is reminiscent of the politics of Rove, the immoral and deceptive campaign culture that sought, and in some cases, succeeded, to displace reasonable logic and truth with the weapons of deceit and paranoia. You all must understand that these manipulative policies are anathema to basic decency and the political process, but also that the American people will not be fooled by these deplorable tactics. Just because someone is calling someone who defied a Congressional order to appear deplorable (and was subsequently found in contempt), and disagrees with your politics doesn't mean he needs professional help - unless you are qualified to make a diagnosis.
From Victoria in reply to A concerned citizen on August 30, 2008 at 7:21 pm. IP Logged, 216.189.188.x Report Abuse Sarah Palin is no Hillary Clinton. That cuts both ways. Yes, she doesn't have the long exposure to the American public eye, but Palin is also not running on a platform of feminism. The reason McCain chose her was that she DESPERATELY shores up the Conservative base. That, and the fact that she's an outsider to the constant navel-gazing of Washington politics (represented by 4 Senators, Clinton, McCain, Biden, Obama), the pick is a welcome bit of fresh air. Only if you're a bittered liberal, caught off-guard by this choice, could you think Senator McCain chose her for Veep, for her gender. We Republicans know the reason, and that's what counts.

More LOL That statement says only that you know nothing about Sarah Palin. I wonder what you get paid for this job. You're uncommonly articulate (you might want to tone that down so you look more like a real commenter), but you claim a level of ignorance that is incongruent with your grammar.
