It was sad but it created apicture in my head and it showed what DWI can do to a person. I,ve always loved sport books but they are even better with life experiences too. The ending was exceptional. In a couple years I'll be a teenager and the story told me what not to do. Heart of the Champion seemed like one of the most true to life books I've ever read. I'm glad that you write a lot more baseball books because that's my favorite sport to watch. I really think that you should work on that volleyball book though. IP Logged, 162.127.6.x Report Abuse My son got me interested in Carl Deuker's books. He would read them in a day and always told me I had to try one. Now I can't put one down once I started it. Although Heart of a Champion is probably my favorite, the others aren't far behind. I use them to motivate my high school students to read. I am actually from the Seattle area in which he talks so much about, and I've been to most places he does talk about.
