From Theresa on June 18, 2008 at 2:05 pm. IP Logged, 162.127.6.x Report Abuse My son got me interested in Carl Deuker's books. He would read them in a day and always told me I had to try one. Now I can't put one down once I started it. Although Heart of a Champion is probably my favorite, the others aren't far behind. I use them to motivate my high school students to read. I have a very reluctant reader I now have hooked on these books. I can hardly wait for the next one!!!

From Troy Neill on May 29, 2008 at 12:55 am. IP Logged, 76.22.116.x Report Abuse Ahhh how can anyone not love all of Carl's books? I am actually from the Seattle area in which he talks so much about, and I've been to most places he does talk about. I love all of the books but I had to vote for Runner as the best but High Heat wasn't far behind. Heck, they are all right there.

From Chapin on February 15, 2008 at 10:00 pm. IP Logged, 68.34.114.x Report Abuse I really liked Heart Of A Champion and Painting the Black. Heart of A Champion left with a better "ended" ending, even though it was pretty sad.
