Hi, Im in 9th grade. One day at the library I saw gym candy on the shelf for sunshine readers so I picked it up. After that I have read every book exept runner which I ordered on amazon!! Anyway I want to say to things. The best is a tie between On the Court, Gym Candy, And Heart of a champion although Painting the black comes in a near second along with night hoops, also I want to send a message to Carl.... WRITE MORE BOOKS!!

    i couldn't agree with u anymore, that was an amazing book, btw does anyone know if payback time is the sequel to gym candy

I would have to say that its a tie between High Heat, Heart of a Champion, and Painting the Black. I love how he writes the book and it feels like you right there watching it happen. He is an amazing Author.

I love all of the books, my favorite is a tie between Gym Candy, and Heart of a Champion! ALL FANTASTIC BOOKS!

I have read them all, but Heart of a Champion is simply the best! As a parent, coach, and teacher, it has made me better at all three. The insight into baseball, family, and life in general is, well, insightful. A great book which I recommend to everyone I meet.

I've only read HoaC and Runner, but loved them both. Terrific writing. I'll be using Runner with my high school reading class. I plan to read the other books someday.
