| "Which is the most objectionable tax" | |
Posted by David Stanford in reply to dunart on July 1, 2007 at 5:24 pm. Here in the States, we have this bizarre situation. The various taxing agencies from tiny little sewer and water districts up to the various states have collected so much money that they could do their "mission" and pay for the services with their funds and give us a rebate. This situation is not forthcoming for two reasons: The first is that nobody knows that they have this much money except the treasurers, and they won't tell(I tried to get numbers from the city. They are using a new found accounting system called GAAP-Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) as they believe they own this money. The Federal Reserve doesn't want this info to get out . This is because of this: If they average person is suddenly in possession of a bunch of money he will try to spend it. The prices will rise and inflationary pressures will lead to a collapse of the whole monetary system. We in the world would never again fall for paper money without real backing. The internet will never allow another such scheme to work. The end of fiat money would spell the liberation of the masses from the domination by elitist trash such as bankers and corporate criminals. I voted that land taxes are most unfair due to the end result: nobody owns land-they just rent it from the state. And yes I can do without 99% of the 'services' provided by government-monopolistic theft, highest level drug dealing while lower level people are jailed for the same thing(google Armitage and heroin-and look into Mena, Arkansas), inept medical services (VA hospitals are worthless), and myriad other problems with govt services. Imagine that you had a private police force patroling your neighborhood-as employees; when they aren't saving cats or preventing theft they could be required to be productive-helping old ladies shop etc. Try that now HA HA Comment ID: 1183325071; Posted by User Originating from IP Address 71.37.40.x If you believe this posting violates Pollcode's Terms of Service, we want to hear from you.
