| "Why Do You Homeschool?" | |
Posted by Lisa on February 2, 2008 at 10:10 pm. We homeschool so our children can be themselves, and not evaluated by aset of standards that are useless and serve no one. I want my children to do things at their own pace, enjoying learning, and not worrying they are behind, or feeling like they can drift because they are ahead. I want them to not sit and read books under their desk at school because they are bored in class, or watch the clock so they can leave a class with a teacher who bores them or hates them or worse-ignores them. I want their spirits to remain unscathed from the sometimes brutal mob mentality of peer led societies, and have always one foot in a 'real" world, where they can see all types of people can succeed and be happy, and looks don't have all that much to do with it!
