In addition to everything else I checked, I homeschool so that my children can develop at their own pace, socially and spiritually, as well as academically. One of my children is very sensitive and emotional, and I wanted to give him a safe environment to build his self-confidence, without the constant social pressures of the typical school environment. I wanted to give my children the opportunity to be healthier, where I could influence their food choices, and get them outside and in nature, rather than sitting indoors for hours at a time. I wanted to give them freedom to discover who they are and what it is they want to do with their lives. I wanted to give them the gift of spending their days with the person (and people) who most cares for them...me (and their family)! (And me the gift of hours upon hours getting to know them.) These are the reasons I homeshool, and so many more. Thanks forgiving me a chance to celebrate all the reasons why!
