Albuquerque Citizens need a Police Officer and Leader to take charge of their police force. The Officers deserve to be lead into battle with the criminal element by someone with common sense, honor, integrity, and support of the officer. Officers are forced to deal with violent, drunk, beligerent individuals that citizens do not want to. They need to be supported and not second guessed. They deserve every benefit of every doubt. As a citizen, I want a Chief of Police that is willing to stand up for his officers when they are in the right, admit mistakes, and correct bad behavior. I want a Chief that gets out of the office and stays in touch with what his officers have to put up with; being called every name in the book, spit on, attacked, lied to, lied about, treated with contempt and disrespect, forced to make split-second decisions and then be Wednesday Quarterbacked.... Good Luck to the new Chief, whomever he or she is.... As long as it's not Mike Callaway or Ray Schultz.  From Slim on November 2, 2009 at 9:32 am. When you have a department this big, your going to have some scandel. Hey, when your the chief you have to kiss some ASS to stay chief, I think that Ray is tring to do the best he can under dreadful conditions. I think he can make some changes in jis upper administration to help with morale. The idea of admin taking calls for service is a great idea. It would be a reality check for those in charge. The DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO attitude has to go. We need leaders that lead by example. I hear a lot of people talk about corruption. I dont think we have Chicago. New Orleans, New York style corruption. What we have is lack of Integrity and Honesty for sure. Darren White needs to have every person of rank take calls one day a month.
