Gordon Brown is the man to take the Labour Party into the next election as the party clerly needs some time in opposition.

I voted for Straw with my impartial hat on. Truth be told I want Gordon to lead them into the next election and the one after that!

If Labour has to change leader before the election, they'll need a caretaker who doesn't expect to win the next election. Anyone with ambitions will have to stay out of the way for the time being (and for a considerable time to come). Jack Straw would be a good caretaker.
