It was a hard decision but I chose John Randolph because I agree with just about everything he did, and I've put a flag on his grave. If the pole included President and CSA Congressman John Tyler, I would have definitely chosen him, because he had the greatest impact on limiting the power of the government as President. The only reason I didn't choose Patrick Henry, was because unlike most of the people listed on this pole, he eventually began leaning towards being a Federalist for national security reasons after the French Revolution. From FLDragoon on June 5, 2009 at 11:49 pm. Henry, only because I know of his staunch Anti-Federalist opinions; however, I want to learn more about John Taylor of Caroline. Mike Church frequently refers to him on Sirius Patriot Radio but it always seems like he discusses him later in the show after I have to go into work. From Will Harvard on June 4, 2009 at 8:14 pm. I went with Henry. Hard to pick though. From PalmettoPatriot in reply to Will Harvard on June 5, 2009 at 9:11 am. Henry was a great choice, Will. I had a hard time deciding between him and Calhoun. They are both dear to my heart. From Will Harvard in reply to PalmettoPatriot on June 7, 2009 at 4:38 pm. I wish I knew more about Yancey. I grew up in his old district From PalmettoPatriot on June 1, 2009 at 1:27 pm. Who do y'all rate as the greatest of the greatest? From Missouri Rebel in reply to PalmettoPatriot on June 5, 2009 at 9:37 am. George Washington From PalmettoPatriot in reply to Missouri Rebel on June 5, 2009 at 10:42 am. A good choice as well although he was more of a centraliser than me. However, he was fantastic on political parties and foreign affairs and on having a less than 'regal' government. There's certainly much to admire about Washington. He was also on the CSA Seal.
