| "Do you believe the American people have a right to know if their next president is constitutionally eligible for the job? " | |
From ApacheCrewCheif in reply to S Carl T on February 2, 2009 at 5:03 pm. It is always good to hear from a fellow Sharpshooter. I hale from the UH-1H, along with OH-58 and I will date myself, an OH-6 observer. Now that he is in office we also need to watch his income under Article 2, Clause 7 of the Constitution: Salary; the President shall, at stated times, receive for his services, a compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that period any other emolument from the united state, or any of them. In other words the Presidents salary is currently $400,000 a year and must be constant during his term and he cannot receive other compensation from the federal or a state government. Presumably, this also applies to the Vice President.
