Wow, anyone who actually voted FOR REAL in this should be upset. Not that Billy Mayfair wasn't a wonderful golfer, etc., etc... but when 1250 'votes' get cast for him in the last hours of the contest, obviously the integrity of this balloting was compromised. Too bad since an Arizona Sports HOF with some sort of integrity would be nice. Congrats to Billy and whoever figured out the way to illegally stuff the ballot box on his behalf. From Terry Dalton on March 14, 2010 at 6:21 pm. I have NOT already voted in this poll....have no idea where that perception has come from... From Ron on March 13, 2010 at 1:54 pm. Billy deserves to be in the Az Hall of fame From Carl Feinberg on March 13, 2010 at 12:57 pm. Billy Mayfair is one of our own AZ PGA hopefuls so I'll cast his name, too. From Carl Feinberg on March 13, 2010 at 12:56 pm. Curt Schilling was a great pitcher. He was pitching a very important game and he had a bad injury that caused a lot of bleeding down his leg but he kept going. He had guts. From William Godfrey on March 13, 2010 at 11:55 am. Billy Mayfair is a true gentleman and a great ambassador for golf and sports in Arizona. I have found him to be a stand-up guy and would be a wonderful representative of the AZ HOF. A great role model. From Mardi Spangler on March 13, 2010 at 10:10 am. Billy Mayfair From bill sportel on March 13, 2010 at 9:52 am. go billy From Chuck on March 13, 2010 at 9:42 am. Bill's mother drove him to Papago daily to play. He was about 12 when I had the opportunity to play a few holes with him. Kind of a chubby kid with freckles as I recall and definately not likely to become the fantastic golfer he is today in my limited thinking. He must have had good support from home and good teaching from Arch Watkins and above all, he had what it took to achieve what he has been able to do. Many of us dream as young golfers to be that good, but only a very limited few make it. Page: 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page
