I've grown accustomed to square, but if round enables phases (square phases might work, but... eh, I can't picture it), and phases means that nights will vary in darkness, based on the phase, I'm all for it. And even if not, I do like phases.
And the roundness has its own merit - makes the sun and moon seem that more special. Heavenly, even.
