The reason the democrats blocked drilling for oil in US is because there was nothing that included finding an alternative fuel source.

Bush said opening federal lands off the U.S. coast -- where oil drilling has been banned by both a presidential executive order and a congressional moratorium -- could yield about 18 billion barrels of oil. Obviously off shore drilling is the answer. Let's spend 10 years and a bunch of money for 2.5 years of oil. Those dems are crazy, 2 years is a long time.(sarcasm)

Instead of wasting time and money drilling, let's use what we have and find an alternative fuel source in the process. Most, not all, of you republicans are only interested in the NOW. Always looking for a quick fix. Obviously the quick fix hasn't benefited the country. We should be looking towards the future and trying to do what will help us in the long run.

And FYI, gas prices have decreased significantly lately.
