"Who is America's best ally?"

"Best" is subjective here. I picked Australia because they have been the most steadfast allies. If you want global influence though then Britain might be the one.

I'm about as pro-Israeli as you can get and not be a card-carrying Zionist, but frankly, the Israelis aren't particularly good American allies. They take more than they give. Not that this is a bad thing - they're a front-line ally with no real margin to offer towards other fronts outside of the occasional humanitarian effort. Furthermore, the raging Antisemitism which is endemic throughout the Third World means that Israeli aid and support is generally worth less than zero - it evokes more fury and noise than it's worth. But it does mean that the Aussies are functionally much more useful as allies. Hell, even the Georgians are more useful. Poor sods.

Don't worry, I've contacted the ZOG, and your card is on it way.

As to the substance: true, to a point. Keep in mind that despite the ridiculous canard, Israel fights its own battles, and has never asked the US to actively get involved in its wars, nor is likely to. It wants materiel, as well as diplomatic cover, but even when in grave danger (1973), never requests American boots on the ground.

Canada should be a choice too.

    Yeah. Right.

Would that be the same Canada as thinks that freedom of speech is a cute little American idea which doesn't pertain to them?

The problem with Britain is that they (like the rest of Europe) will one day be an Islamist state. And Australia voluntrily chose kevin "Earwax" Rudd as PM. That leaves Israel, which has a knack for survival lacking in Britain and Australia.

Now let me take this opportunity to upbraid Glenn Reynolds for dropping Paris Hilton from the "serious" Insta-Presidential Poll and to once again lobby for her return. I will cease my campaign if he includes Her Overexposedness in future polls.

In every war of the 20th Century -- WWI, WWI, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the current operations in Afghanistan and Iraq -- the Australians have been by our side. No other nation has demonstrated such loyalty.

I love these comments that suggest that the Aussies were 'by the side' of the US in WWI and WWII.

They weren't, they were by ours (the UK) and unlike the US actually arrived on time for both parties ;-)

Speaking as a pro-anglosphere Brit, I freely admit that anti-americanism is currently fashionable in the UK in more quarters than I would like. However in our defence I would like to point out that "anti-americanism" is also popular amongst a great many Americans.
