They take more than they give. Not that this is a bad thing - they're a front-line ally with no real margin to offer towards other fronts outside of the occasional humanitarian effort. Furthermore, the raging Antisemitism which is endemic throughout the Third World means that Israeli aid and support is generally worth less than zero - it evokes more fury and noise than it's worth. Keep in mind that despite the ridiculous canard, Israel fights its own battles, and has never asked the US to actively get involved in its wars, nor is likely to. It wants materiel, as well as diplomatic cover, but even when in grave danger (1973), never requests American boots on the ground.

However in our defence I would like to point out that "anti-americanism" is also popular amongst a great many Americans.
