From Greg in reply to Patrick H on January 20, 2008 at 10:32 pm. IP Logged, 76.25.135.x Report Abuse Would you ride in a car with a driver that obeys 83% of the traffic signals? Face it if either the dems or McCain are in the White House the economy is going to tank. If the disaster occurs on Hillary's watch, the backlash could right the ship. If the backlash is against "another failed Republican(McCain)Administration", the US will not recover in my lifetime.
From Ted on January 20, 2008 at 5:51 pm. IP Logged, 209.6.218.x Report Abuse I'm a lifelong Conservative and Republican. I can NEVER EVER vote for McCain, NEVER. From Linda on January 20, 2008 at 5:44 pm. IP Logged, 71.234.136.x Report Abuse If Thompson endorses McCain, he is not a true conservative. McCain and Huckabee are democrats. From Donald on January 20, 2008 at 5:43 pm. IP Logged, 24.155.107.x Report Abuse I do not believe Fred would sell out his conservative principles to kiss up to McAmnesty. He will very very likely wait and let the states decide. Here is hoping for a Mitt/Fred ticket. From JimP on January 20, 2008 at 5:42 pm. IP Logged, 71.161.59.x Report Abuse I will NOT vote for McCain. Period. I am a VietNam Vet and admire McCain for his heroism, but he is not a conservative and I will not vote for him no matter what. Huckabee either for that matter. From electric-rascal on January 20, 2008 at 5:31 pm. IP Logged, 192.131.99.x Report Abuse A Fred support of McCain would cancel Fred's conservative credentials, in my opinion. I will hold my nose and vote for Romney, I will sit out the election if McCain or Huck are the GOP nominee. I am going to write my state and national GOP chair to let them know my feelings on this - maybe they will get a clue. I'm hoping Fred stays in and we go to a brokered convention... the GOP will have to decide if it is the party of Ronald Reagan and true conservatism, or that it has turned left and abandoned federalism and conservatism.
From Gridlock on January 20, 2008 at 5:23 pm. IP Logged, 71.187.238.x Report Abuse If Fred endorsed McCain, I would be very disappointed. It would not cause me to vote for McCain. I would still vote for the next best guy on the ever dwindling list of Conservatives, Mitt Romney. From Wind Rider on January 20, 2008 at 5:22 pm. IP Logged, 70.174.88.x Report Abuse Ya left off the 'none of the above' selection. If the choice is between McCain/Romney or Huck versus Hill and/or Barak - well, I refuse to participate in such stupidity. A vote for any of them is a vote for differing degrees of socialism. I'll pass. Thanks. From Steve H in AZ on January 20, 2008 at 5:16 pm. IP Logged, 68.230.2.x Report Abuse I will stay home rather than vote for McCain. The only thing that might make me give him a second look would be if he brought on an irresistibly strong VP, like John Bolton. From Cindy on January 20, 2008 at 5:10 pm. IP Logged, 71.199.185.x Report Abuse I am the biggest Thompson supporter around, but I don't care if he endorses one of the others. I won't vote for any of them.
