How can people keep saying huckabee is like a democrat? HELLO?!? Has anyone seen Mr. McCain?
    --------------------------------------------
Both are equally as bad and while I would never vote for either man, I flat out despise McCain.

Huckabee is ALL about bigger government. What he says and what he does are two different things. This is the man who made a child's body mass be on their permanent school record. This is the man who did want to give taxpayers' money to ILLEGAL immigrants to go to college. Forget all the legal Arkansans who scrape by to go through college. I'm from Arkansas. I'm an Evangelical Christian, I'm educated, I'm a card-carrying Republican, and Mike Huckabee is the last man on Earth I would vote for.

There's also this fact. What the Fredhead's also fail to realize is that if you allow the Democrats to walk into the White House, say hello to the Fairness Doctrine and that will help kill or reduce conservative radio big time. The Democrats over and over again have demonstrated they want the Fairness Doctrine to be implemented under a Democrat President should it be either Hillary Clinton or Obama.

It won't be just the Demos that will go after the Fairness Doctrine to get Rush and Hannity and Levin off the air.... It'll be our own Gov. Huckabee and Sen. McCain as well (in fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see MAC partner with Clinton or a Kennedy to do that anyway based on the fact that Talk radio has really gone after him.)

What Kaitian fails to realise is that some of us - many of us - have been voting for many more years than she/he (?) obviously has. We will no longer participate if we are no longer represented.

No more settling for "also ran" or "has been" wanna-be conservatives. If I can't get the REAL DEAL, then screw it. I refuse to vote for RINO's anymore, and once Fred is out of the race, that's all there is left - aside from communists, socialists, or liberals. And I'm referring to BOTH parties.

No scHuck and jive, no 'I'll-be-whoever-the-media-wants-me-tobe-today Romney's, and DEFINATELY no McLames.

Like I said, I'm staying home. To HELL with what's left of the republican party. They deserve everything they get - or don't get, as the case will likely be.

Romney has never done the "I'll be whatever the media has want me to be today" at all period. His actions in Massachusetts contradicts what he has stated in the running for the Senator of Massachusetts and Governorship of Massachusetts.

The 50 dollar abortion thing that has been slandered that Romney supposedly implemented when the health commission of the Massachusetts Commonwealth decided. The big number of liberal judges that Romney appointed in front of 8 out of 9 Democrat judges, etc etc. All of his actions were extremely reduced and he did what he could by conservative policies. Running against a hugely Democrat-dominated Commonwealth as a Republican makes the job much difficult than that of the President of the United States today. President Bush can easily veto laws without worrying much about veto-overrides because he knows he has enough allies in the Congress to prevent that from happening.

And you've been assuming how long I've been voting for so nice try, retro. There is compromise in politics all the time and you do what the best of your ability you can.

By the way, prove to me that Romney has acted what the media wants him to be. Newsbusters.org would have a big talk with you over that.
      http://newsbusters.org/people/political-figures/mitt-romney

Stay home, go ahead, you'll be one of the people responsible for tearing down what left of conservatism is today and walk us towards a nanny state of the Democrat Party. Thank you and to hell with you.

I love how theres a few people here that actually learn for themselves instead of crying that they jumped onto a sinking ship.
        Thank you.
If Romney would've been a "conservative firewall" Massachusetts would have got NOTHING done

There are only two conservatives seeking the nomination: Fred and Mitt. If Fred drops out, it is obvious who to vote for. McCain and Huckabee are two I could not support in the general election. I could tolerate Rudy.

What the hell is wrong with you Fredheads? Staying at home and refusing to vote in the election or writing in Fred's name when he declared his intention he's not running for President anymore?

Romney right now is just the best chance we have at maintaining conservativism. I've seen people constantly bash Romney on one or another issue but goddamn it people. You decide on one issue that supposedly affects your entire decision but refuse to care about other issues than that..

I'm a registered Republican and will always support a Republican in the White House over a Democrat unless it was some moron like Huckabee that had the ticket. I've always decided my votes over multiple issues, not single-issues as most of the people on this poll seem to indicate they are.

Abortion is one of the least conservative issues today and you need to stop b###hing about that people. It won't change and will not change for a long time to come. Drop it people. Foreign policy, economic policy, military policy, etc etc. Romney has demonstrated he has the capability to do those issues. Yes, Fred Thompson's a great person to manage those issues but right now, he does not seem to be electable.

The country has become more and more moderate and we have to get as close to conservatism and electability as we can. Romney or Guiliani rates high on this.

    Substitute "Romney" for "Huckabee".
