From Ian in reply to Diana on January 21, 2008 at 1:38 pm. IP Logged, 70.132.6.x Report Abuse Diana, How long do you think it is until Mitt is gone? Who are you going to support when that happens. Take a look at who is dropping off, its the conservatives. Mitt is next. I am not voting for a Rino ever again. I suspect after Mitt is gone you will begin to understand.
From James in reply to Ian on January 21, 2008 at 5:02 pm. IP Logged, 68.35.180.x Report Abuse Romney gone? As of this date, Romney has the most votes and delegates. Romney's in this race for the long haul, so hate to disappoint you otherwise. Thompson in the debates I have watched has really gone after McCain and Huckabee, not after the others. Hmmm Romney-Thompson ticket...interesting.

No matter how bad Romney or ugh...McCain are, they are infinitely better than Obama or Hillary.
From Erik Wingren on January 21, 2008 at 12:26 pm. IP Logged, 24.19.47.x Report Abuse I'm not enthused about any of the other candidates. I will probably vote for one of them (except Huckabee) in fear of the Demo candidates in November -- but I won't contribute or campaign for them, as I have been (and will continue to) for Fred. From Grunthor on January 21, 2008 at 11:56 am. IP Logged, 24.22.192.x Report Abuse I am a dyed-in-the-wool, across the board conservative. I love Fred. Sadly he just doesn't have what the Republican base is looking for. Should he drop out, I move my support to Mitt Romney because of many factors but the main ones being that two of his remaining opponents are liberals (Huckabee and Rudy) and one has spent the better part of the last 8 years treating the base like we were his personal commode (McCain) ah, that leaves Ron Paul. I agree with almost 100% of his domestic policy, it's his foreign policy that is naive, dangerous and will get a heck of a lot of Americans killed. From winston on January 21, 2008 at 11:51 am. IP Logged, 74.12.81.x Report Abuse Fred for president... From chuck on January 21, 2008 at 11:45 am. IP Logged, 204.238.37.x Report Abuse How can people keep saying huckabee is like a democrat? HELLO?!? Has anyone seen Mr. McCain? Huckabee would not implement the social programs the democrats want, he wants smaller Government, He wants to make the tax system smarter, and more efficient, and for all you that dont know, hows about the billions, almost trillion dollars that go to simply complying with the tax system, as a small business, or individual...how about the illegals? have you read his 9 point plan? He already has a stance on all the major issues if you look at his website! Liberal? This is the oldest play in the book, Fred! Calling a republican a democrat to scare up votes...who else has done that in the past? EVERYONE! Fortunately, Huckabee has a great record, and pundits and senators dont want him because he would wipe out the lobbyists with the Fairfax plan....which has millions and millions of research done on it, and is proven to work in states income taxes, like Tennessee, Florida etc. PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT TAKING HUCKABEE'S WORDS OUT OF CONTEXT!!! THEY BEND HIS WORDS TO MAKE HIM SOUND LIKE HE'S OUT OF CONTROL, BUT IF YOU WOULD GO TO HIS SPEACHES, YOU COULD HEAR FOR YOURSELF HOW GENUINE HE IS, AND HOW GREAT HE WOULD BE AT LEADING A NATION. more executive experience in government than any other candidate, period. Also, Newt Gingrich likes him, and would very well be his vp. From Kaitian in reply to chuck on January 21, 2008 at 12:00 pm. IP Logged, 76.27.253.x Report Abuse Uhh 1) Huckabee has demonstrated that he does not want a smaller government. In fact, he made it his mandate in Arkansas that he wanted to make it his personal crusade to convert sick days to vacation days for healthy people, proposing a nationwide smoking ban in contradiction of federalism, and even wanting to force all restaurants to indicate how much content they have in their food. What does that say to you? Oh ya, it's called a Nanny State. 2) The Fair tax proposed by Huckabee has been trashed by the WSJ since way back in August 2007 before he ever came into the bigger spotlight. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118800635034508655.html http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB119863013677849835.html Anyways, it's a 30% increase in taxes across the board despite his talking points states 23%. 3. Huckabee shares his position no different from McCain. Hell, he even wanted to implement legislation in Arkansas to allow illegal alien to receive in-state college tuition which that failed horribly because the state rejected his idea flat out. He has no intention of cracking down on illegal immigrations. 4) Hell, the latest speech by him recently is that he wanted to put God back in the Constitution. So is he playing Pastor-in-Chief or Commander-in-Chief. 5) His military or foreign policy concept is a complete disaster and reaks of Jimmy Carterism.
