It is not a nimby issue. It is an issue of protecting the sensitive ecosystems of the Sierra foothills. I speak only for myself on this point, but if it were merely an issue of my backyard and/or money, I would not fight the plan.

Also, you imply that the project is about meeting a need. It is not about need nearly as much as it is about demand, which is much more about convenience and waste than about need.

If we only used the electricity we need, this project would be completely unnecessary.
